Mermaid Party Food

This recipe only calls for a few ingredients and if you are making this for an adult party you can switch out the sparkling juice for vodka, schnapps or champagne.

  • unflavored gelatin powder(equal to 1 tablespoon)
  • Grape Jello
  • ½cup sparkling grape juice or champagne
  • Multi-colored sugar or sprinkles for garnish
  • Candy mermaid tails (I got mine on Amazon)

In a small mixing bowl add unflavored gelatin powder. Add 1 cup of cold water. Soak the gelatin for 2 minutes and then whisk it until it's dissolved.

Add 1 cup of hot water and grape Jello to your bowl. Whisk it again until everything is dissolved.

Add the sparkling grape juice.

Spray pan with cooking spray oil and wipe. This will leave just enough oil to keep the Jello from sticking to the pan. Pour the Jello into the pan and place it in the fridge for about an hour, or until it's very firm.

Take a knife and gently go around the edges of the Jello. Place a large plate or cutting board on top of the pan and flip it over and lift up the pan.

The Jello should slide right out of the pan.

Cut the Jello into squares with a large knife.

Garnish your jello with colored sugar and/or sprinkles and mermaid tails to make it a fun mermaid themed dessert.
